PACIM Library

In response to COVID-19, commonly known as coronavirus, PACIM Library remains currently closed. Our number one goal during this public health crisis is to ensure the health and safety of our members and librarians.

About the Library

Established in 1994, the PACIM Library has an extensive collection of resources in both Polish and English, including books, music, DVD’s, CD’s, audio-books, tapes, magazines and a special children’s book section. Our archive also includes a number of rare and out of print books that are available by special request only.

We continue to expand our offerings, and work closely with the Literary Fund to organize meetings and readings with authors.

Book Donations

Please consider PACIM’s “Bring a Book from Poland” program! For years, the simple addition of one or two books from world travelers has helped us increase the library collection. When you go to Poland, please bring back a book for the Library. Thank you – Dziękujemy!

The library accepts large title/estate donations ONLY upon Head Librarian approval. We do not accept donations of materials published before 2000 unless approved.

Please contact Ms. Donna Sisler at dsisler@pacim.org with questions.

Polish Book Club

Spotkania, w języku polskim, odbywają się mniej więcej raz w miesiącu, zwykle w ostatni czwartek miesiąca. Niektóre książki są dostępne w naszej bibliotece dla członków PACIMia.

The book club meets once a month, usually on the last Thursday of the month. When the book/s discussed are only available in Polish, the discussions will be in Polish. Some books are available at the library for PACIM members.

Past 2019 book club selections include:

  • March 28, 2019 – Exodus: Łukasza Orbitowskiego
  • February 28, 2019 – Nie ma: Mariusz Szczygieł
  • January 24, 2019 – Purezento: Joanna Bator

Reading During COVID-19

PACIM is working on plans to safely open the library as soon as possible. In the meantime, here are some ways you can continue reading books in Polish while we are closed:
